iOS nest app - keeps asking for "sign in with google"

Hi, more of a nuisance than a problem, my nest app has asked me 3 times this week to sign in with google, the latest time immediately after upgrading to iOS 15, which is fine, but the other times seemed just random.  this takes a series of app switching with password managers and google authenticator copying 6 digit numbers, plus face ID, but I am eventually able to get logged in, I also get a security notification to my recovery email address each time.  it works closing and opening the app, switching to other apps etc for a while and then I'll go to open or switch to the app again and it asks me to sign in with google again.

Is there a way to remember the phone, i mean it remembers most of the time but why not always?  does google just passive aggressively want me to buy an android phone or maybe switch to a different thermostat?  why does it continue to ask me to sign in with google?  I just want to switch to the app and adjust the temperature but it's more time-convenient to leave the office, walk downstairs and down the hallway, adjust it manually and walk back up.

if anyone else comes here for help good luck.

i completely removed the nest app, signed out and signed back in with google and no luck, in fact now it prompts every time.

So, I upgraded my phone and now it's working properly.
