i recently set up a new (2nd) home in my google home account/app. and installed a new nest thermo stat in that home  that works as it should and works with the app as it should.

BUT....  i wanted to add my wife to the family members who can access and adjust the thermostat settings. when i open the google home app on my iphone and click settings (in order to add her to the account/home i get a "internal error encountered" message and can go no further.

restarted my phone:  still get message.       not sure what steps to take to fix this problem. id prefer not to delete the new home setup from my account and would prefer not deleting and reinstalling the google home app from my phone.   any ideas  are  appriciated  thx

The customer on this thread is also unable to access Settings in the Google Home app in order to add a family member:

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Apps-Account/Can-not-access-settings-in-Google-home-App/m-p/6...

You could try contacting Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

The customer on that other thread also cannot access Support.

By the way, if you delete the Google Home app from your phone and reinstall it, you do not lose any settings; you just log back in using the same Google Account you were using previously. We've done it before.
