nest can not be controlled manually

with my nest thermostat I am unable to set temperatures or change modes, turning the dial has no results, but I can control through the nest app.

It's an absolute GARBAGE thermostat. I'm going back to my 'old school' dumb thermostat. At least you can dial in a temperature and its accurate. The NEST is 50% unresponsive and might take many attempts to set to a specific temperature. I let furnace installer upgrade my thermostat. BIG MISTAKE; NEVER AGAIN.

  1. The Nest Thermostat's touchscreen may have reduced sensitivity or be unresponsive to touch inputs. Try cleaning the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any dirt or smudges that might be affecting responsiveness. If that doesn't resolve the issue, power cycle the thermostat by removing it from the wall plate for a few seconds and then reattaching it. This can sometimes help reset the touchscreen functionality.
  2. It's possible that there's a software or firmware issue with your Nest Thermostat. Make sure your thermostat is connected to the internet and check for any available updates in the Nest app. Updating to the latest software version might resolve any known issues or bugs.
  3. Verify that the Nest Thermostat is receiving sufficient power from the HVAC system. Check the wiring connections to ensure they are secure and properly connected.
  4. Occasionally, incorrect settings or configuration can affect the thermostat's functionality. Double-check the thermostat's settings in the Nest app to ensure that everything is configured correctly. If necessary, reset the thermostat to its factory settings and go through the setup process again.
