nest thermostat schedule different to history

Sladeyboy1

At my wits end here! No matter how I set my thermostat schedule I come down in the middle of the night and the heating is on. Ive set it to come on at 5.45am and go off at 8.15am then on again at 5pm and off at 9.30pm. Yet the history shows some days as 10 3/4 hours use and others as much as 18 1/2 hours use yet the schedules are the same every day.

It should only be around 7 hours use per day so 18 1/2 hours use is ridiculous. I come down in the middle of the night and its boiling hot!

Please help!

Thanks

Hi Sladeyboy1,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties with your thermostat schedule. Kindly try these:

  1. Double-check your thermostat's schedule settings to ensure they are correct, avoid any overlaps or conflicts that may cause extended heating periods, and ensure that the temperature and time settings are accurately programmed.
  2. Check for conflicting modes or settings that might override your schedule, such as manual overrides or vacation modes, and ensure the thermostat is not set to a continuous or manual mode that would bypass the programmed schedule.
  3. Assess if external factors, such as a smart thermostat's occupancy detection, are affecting heating patterns. Check for unusual occupancy patterns or if the thermostat is mistakenly detecting occupancy during the night.
  4. Observe daytime temperature differentials to detect significant fluctuations causing extended heating periods, indicating potential issues with temperature regulation or potential system malfunctions, thereby ensuring optimal space comfort.
  5. If the issue persists, try performing a reset on your thermostat and update it to the latest firmware version if available. This can help resolve any software-related issues or bugs that might be affecting the schedule.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
