nest thermostat

I am able to control temperature and turn nest on/off via the app.  but can not do anything with the device on the wall.  The device on the wall will display the temperature but when I turn the device the temperature does not change.  I need to update my network connection and can not because I can not access anything with the actual device.  any suggestions?  thanks Lisa

Hi Lisa,

It sounds like you're experiencing some issues with controlling your Nest Thermostat through the physical device on the wall. If you can control it through the app but not manually on the device, it could be a couple of things.

Firstly, ensure that the thermostat is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You mentioned needing to update your network connection, so double-check that the thermostat is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and has a stable connection.

If the issue persists, you might want to try a few troubleshooting steps:

 

  1. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. 
  2. Ensure that your thermostat has the latest software installed. You can usually check for updates through the settings.
  3. If your network has changed or if there are connectivity issues, you may need to reset the Wi-Fi settings on your thermostat and reconnect it to the network. If no option is showing, perform a factory data reset on the thermostat itself.
