Hello inderpreet1977,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. Help's here—I'd love to know more about this.

Could you provide more details about the random change in temperature? Which type of Nest Thermostat do you have? Also, could you provide a rundown of all the steps you've tried?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Mark

The temperature always changes on the thermostat to 9 Celsius and we don’t have it on eco temperatures. We want the temperature to hold on 24 celsius heat.

There are a few reasons why your thermostat might keep changing the temperature to 9 degrees Celsius even if it's not set to eco mode:

1. Schedule Mishap:

  • Double-check your thermostat's schedule. It's possible there's a setting programmed for 9 degrees at specific times. Review the schedule and adjust it to reflect your desired 24 degrees Celsius for heating.

2. Learning Mode (if applicable):

  • Some thermostats, like Nest thermostats, have learning modes that adjust temperatures based on your usage patterns. If you haven't used the heating much recently, the thermostat might be trying to save energy and setting a lower temperature.
  • Check your thermostat's settings and see if there's a learning mode you can disable.

3. Temporary Hold Override:

  • Some thermostats allow setting a temporary hold temperature that overrides the schedule for a specific duration. Ensure there isn't a temporary hold set to 9 degrees.

4. Thermostat Lock or Setting:

  • There might be a lock or setting on your thermostat preventing adjustments. Consult your thermostat's manual to see if there's a lock or setting that needs to be unlocked to make changes.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Check the Schedule: Review the thermostat's schedule and ensure there aren't any settings for 9 degrees.
  • Disable Learning Mode (if applicable): If your thermostat has a learning mode, disable it to prevent automatic temperature adjustments.
  • Cancel Temporary Hold: Ensure there aren't any temporary hold settings overriding your desired temperature.
  • Unlock Thermostat (if applicable): Look for any lock settings on your thermostat and unlock it if necessary.
  • Consult the Manual: Refer to your thermostat's manual for specific instructions on adjusting settings and schedules.

If you've tried all of these steps and the thermostat is still stuck on 9 degrees, it might be a malfunctioning component.  You can call our customer service line for further assistance.

Regards,

Mario.
