I am replacing the battery. How critical is it to not exceed the Whr capacity? Mine says 1.665 Whr. I see replacements at 1.67, 2.4, 2.6. Is it critical to match the power level of the existing, or can I up the level to 2.4?

When it comes to replacing the battery in your 2nd generation learning thermostat, it's generally best to match or exceed the Whr (watt-hour) capacity of the original battery. While a slight increase in capacity shouldn't cause any issues, it's essential to ensure that the voltage and size of the replacement battery are compatible with your thermostat.
That being said, if you're considering using a replacement battery with a higher capacity (like the 2.4 Whr option you mentioned), it's crucial to check if the thermostat can handle it without causing any damage.
I would recommend consulting the user manual of your thermostat or reaching out to the manufacturer's customer support for guidance on the compatibility of different battery capacities. They can provide you with the most accurate information and ensure that your thermostat continues to function properly after the battery replacement.
Best of luck with your battery replacement, and I hope your thermostat continues to operate smoothly!

Well Said 🙂 @abuislam
Also, most modern appliances with batteries will work with any brand/manufacturer. So again ensure:
Also, you may be able to find a replacement battery if you search up the model number of the battery (if visible) or searching up a replacement battery for your specific thermostat. Also, it may be worth contacting Google Nest Support directly for recommended battery replacements or further details:)
I say your best option is the 1.67Whr
