I have a dual thermostat setup and installed a nest in the downstairs. the wiring had a jumper between W1 and W1 (which I think sent power to the other thermostat (which is get'n the now power to RC)). The nest help person had me put the white (W2) in the * and set it to AUX, and this worked. Then a couple days later when I went to install a second next on on the upstairs thermostat, I got a red on the setup for the Rc saying that it had no power. I put the old thermostat back and it has no display either and is not working.
My question is how do I get power to go upstairs where I believe the jumper was pushing the power to it?

Hello rodaddy,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.
Your system may not provide enough power or any power to either the thermostat or a specific wire (so the thermostat can’t complete a circuit and shows a report in the Rc terminal). If your thermostat display won't turn on, try charging it for an hour before installing it again. Then, gather the power readings under the Technical Info option.
Please note that you should turn off the power from your HVAC system at the breaker box before touching the wires.
Keep me posted.
Regards,
Mark
