Hi crystalkk,

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing heating issues with your thermostat. If your thermostat is sending wrong messages to your heating system and causing it to run continuously, there could be a few potential causes:

  1. Check the thermostat's programming settings to ensure that the temperature schedule is configured correctly. Make sure that the desired temperature settings align with your preferences and that there are no conflicting schedules or programming errors.
  2. Incorrect sensor placement can lead to inaccurate temperature readings, which may cause the thermostat to send incorrect messages to your heating system. Ensure that the thermostat is installed in an appropriate location away from direct heat sources, drafts, or sunlight. Additionally, verify that the thermostat's temperature sensor is clean and free from any dust or debris.
  3. Faulty or loose wiring connections can cause erratic behavior in thermostats. Double-check the wiring connections at the thermostat and ensure they are secure and properly connected but make sure to turn off the power to your HVAC system before touching any wires.
  4. Sometimes, software or firmware glitches can cause unexpected behavior in thermostats. Check if there are any available updates for your thermostat's software or firmware. Updating to the latest version may help resolve any known issues or bugs.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
