Hi StaufferLarry,

Thank you for letting me know your concerns about whether your wiring system is compatible with the Nest thermostat. I’m more than happy to help you.

Taking a look at the picture that you have shared, most of the wires are compatible with the Nest thermostat. However, I identified the thermostat wiring and some cables (O and B) that require professional help to be installed. To get better assistance, you can contact experts on Nest service installation

You can check this information using this tool: compatibility checker.

Let me know if you need more assistance.

Best regards,

Daniel.

@StaufferLarry

Your system appears to have two reversing valve control wires (O and B) which make it not compatible with any of the Nest thermostats.

how should i proceed?   give it a try and see if it works?   I currently have a CT-100 z-wave thermostat that works fine.

Hello StaufferLarry,

Thank you so much for keeping me updated. I'm happy to assist you with more information about compatibility questions.

The control board might have labels for the wiring system, indicating their function. As I mentioned before, to get better assistance, you can contact a professional expert to determine the situation if the system could be compatible.

In some older systems, the B wire might be a common wire (the C wire). The common wire provides constant power to the thermostat. This is important because Nest thermostats typically require a C wire for reliable operation. Please check out this article: Identify a thermostat wire, and consult the section "other thermostat wires."

Please keep me posted; I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Daniel
