Hi,
I have a Nest 3rd gen thermosthat.
I have a heat pump and a gas furnace.
I have setup the thermosthat for dual system. Primary being the heat pump and auxiliary the gas furnace
When in the equipment configuration for the dual system and select when you want the alternate heat to kick in i have 3 choices.
1- always use alternate heat
2- never use Alternate heat
3- choose a temperature as when you want the alternate heat to start. the coldest i can go is -12 celcius ??
The heat pump can provide heat up to -25 Celcius, therefore i would like to setup the then temperate as to when alternate heat start to -25 celcuis.
How do i get to allow the thermosthat to go up to -25 Celcius?
Thx

Hi Casseau,
Thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you're unable to set the alternative heat source for your Heat Pump system below -25 Celsius.
The ability to adjust alternative heat settings can vary depending on the specific model and manufacturer of your Heat Pump. Unfortunately, the option to alternate heat start to -25 Celsius isn't currently available for the Nest thermostats.
I recommend consulting with a local HVAC professional. They can assess your system and determine if it can be modified to allow for alternative heat starting at -25 Celsius.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Jenniffer
