I have the original nest thermostat with google home.  I want to control heat manually without it going into eco mode.  It seems to stay for a few days then goes back to eco and its at 50.  I have radiant heat so don't want it going up and down want to stay at one temp.

thank you for any help

Hello snowball271,

I understand your frustration with the Nest Thermostat and its tendency to revert to Eco mode, especially when you're trying to maintain a consistent temperature with radiant heat. To address this issue, you can try a few troubleshooting steps:

  1. In your Nest app or on the thermostat itself, you can check and adjust the Eco temperature settings. Make sure that the Eco mode isn't set to a temperature that is too low (e.g., 50 degrees in your case). This might trigger the thermostat to enter Eco mode and disrupt your desired temperature.
  2. If you have a schedule set up, try resetting it. Sometimes, scheduling conflicts can lead to unexpected thermostat behavior. Clearing the schedule and setting manual temperatures might help in avoiding the automatic switches to Eco mode.
  3. Disable the Home and Away Assist and the Routines. Check for any thermostat actions available and remove them to avoid an unexpected temperature mode change.
  4. Restart the thermostat once the changes have been made.

I hope these suggestions help you regain control over your Nest Thermostat and maintain a consistent temperature with your radiant heating system. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to ask.

Best regards,
Mark
