2.4GHz and 5THz bands

I am trying to connect Atomi String lights to manage through an app.  It will only work through a 2.4 GHz band. I purchased a Smart wifi range extender.  It needs to connect to the Google router with only 2 ports. One port is used to connect to the Modem and the other is used for the Ooma telephone line, Can I use a splitter to connect the google router to the modem and the WiFi extender?

Thank you Olavrb!  I purchased a TP Link TL SG105, connected everything and set up the 2.4GHz band.  All was well until I tried to install the Atomi Smart string lights.  One message said to go to the Google Router and disable 5GHz.  Well, that's what the Atomi converter was supposed to do.  Should I return the TP Link and purchase the one you are using?  Thank you, I am appreciative of any help you can offer,

Hi Jeff, thank you so much for checking back with me.  I finally gave up on google and purchased a TP-Router.  I finally got it running and the lights are now connected.  I am still trying to pair the 3 string lights, but thankful they are connected.  I am sorry to say goodbye to my google router.  Mary Ann

You can add more LAN ethernet ports by adding an unmanaged switch. 🙂 Just make sure it's unmanaged, not smart/ managed. I use Netgear GS108, works great.

The switch you got should be fine.

Try setting up the smart wifi range extender with a different network name/ SSID than the Nest Wifi network. Like adding "_IoT" at the end.
