2 nest routers and a switch

I have multiple locations hardwired to a switch. I just bought 2 Nest routers. Can I link the 2nd router (going upstairs) through the switch, or does it have to be wired directly to the primary router? Thanks for any help given.

The best layout would be modem to router to switch to second router and secondary devices
