I got a 2nd google router for my guest house. It is hard wired. I want it to be a router but it configures it to a point. I want it be a router.
My connection is as follows:
1st Google router connected to my ISP modem/router
2nd Google router connected to 1st Google router.
When I did the set up, it made the 2nd router as a point. Now it says I have 6 points.
Am I missing something? Did I connect it wrong? Is there a way to configure the 2nd router to be a router?
Thank you.

Hi map1072,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your router keeps configuring itself as a point. Don't worry, I'm here to help.
Based on the information you shared with us, you can use any Google Wifi router as the main router, but you must keep in mind that it should always be connected to a functional modem that is connected to the Internet. So you can install a second modem in your guest house and set it up as a different router and a completely separate network from your main house network, or you can always leave it as a point and create a guest network so that your security on your network is not compromised.
To create a guest network, follow the next steps:
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you. Can you provide the instructions on creating an entire new network. Do I connect the 2nd modem to the ISP modem? I had a little trouble creating a new network when I tried to make one. Thank you

Hi map1072,
Thank you for your response. Let's work together for a solution.
The best thing we can recommend is to contact your ISP so they can tell you if the modem they have is compatible with accepting a second modem or if it's necessary for them to establish a completely new network. Once you have everything clear, you just need to follow the same setup process in the Google Home app.
Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.
