I am not sure if this is a GEN1 issue but my Google Mesh Router set came with 4. Three have been connected perfectly fine for two years. Recently I needed to improve Wi-Fi capability in a part of my house that did not have Wi-Fi. So I wanted to simply add the previously unused device to my mesh net work.
I discovered I had to migrate from Google Wi-Fi to google home and did so. Now I seem unable to add that device to the existing mesh network, and could only add the device to a new net work which thankfully is connected to the first. Unfortunately I am getting a device that appears to be connected to the mesh (same said and password as the others) except it is off-line.
i’ve tried resetting it and nothing seems to help. I would’ve felt more comfortable if The software instructions appeared as if they were adding that device to the existing mesh net work and not creating a new one which my old network would connect to. How do I resolve this?

The fastest and most reliable way to get up and running is probably to factory reset all your existing pucks:
And make sure there are no network in the Google Home home afterwards, as there can be only one network per home.
Then set up from scratch with the Google Home app:
If you reuse the network name (SSID) and password, your wireless devices should reconnect automagically.
