Can I have two Nest Mesh Networks in one house?

I rent out part of my home and want a separate mesh network in the rented space.  Can I do this with two Google Nest Mesh networks or would I have to have a different brand of mesh in my rental area.  Are the mesh AP's configured to a specific router or would they connect to whichever mesh router that they are closest to?  I have a router that is hard wired to each space.

Just adding info to original question.  My config is as follows.

Fiber - Modem - Router - hardwire to each space.  can I add a Nest router in each space along with wifi points for each?  Will they stay separate?  or would I have to use Nest routers chained in each space?

Rsgriener, as I understand it, and I am no expert, if you want two separate networks then ideally you need two routers; one to manage each network.  Each network should have a unique name and password. The routers should be in parallel, not chained.

I dont know how the Home app would react to that though. I have no direct experience; you might need two instances of the Home app maybe?

Hi folks,

@Davy123, thanks for the help!

@Rsgriener, like Davy123 mentioned, you would need to set up 2 separate networks for each space. You could create another home structure on the Google Home app to manage the network on your rented space.

Thanks,

Edward
