Can I reuse mesh points without a Google Nest router?

A storm took out the Nest router and we had to replace it. The best option at the time was to get a Netgear Orbi mesh system.  Local stores were out of the Nests.

The new system is up and running with all the same settings that the Nest system was set with.

The question is, can I reuse the Nest's points with the Orbi system to saturate the coverage or are the points basically bricks without the Nest router?

Hey @CDollar .

You can put the point into Bridge mode and connect it to your Orbi but it is not recommended as the article notes. If your main Nest router was the only one affected by the storm, you should be able to just replace that one itself instead of the entire network. If you haven't already, I'd recommend using a surge protector on the network gear that also warrants any damages it doesn't stop from happening. That way you will not be out of pocket if a storm hits you again.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
