Can’t reach Printer over Nest Wifi

Hi there - I have a printer that is connected to Nest over 2.4ghz. My phone (IOS) is connected to same Nest over 5ghz. My phone cannot detect the printer because of the band difference.

any suggestions here, so I can print from my phone?

Devices on 2.4ghz is not blocked from devices on 5ghz, they're on the same LAN as long as they're on the same network name/ SSID.

What printer are we talking about here?

Hi - Thanks for the response. Printer is Brother MFC J870DW.

Before nest I had a netgear dual band router. To print over the network I have to connect to 2.4ghz band to see the printer. In nest since there’s no option for me to choose the band, my Phone isn’t seeing the printer on 5ghz. 

Both phone and printer connected to same ssid just different bands

@Nest221, thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with printing. To isolate the issue could you try rebooting your printer, your Google Wifi and your phone to refresh the connection?

Hi Edward - Thanks for the response. I did try rebooting the printer, and the phone. Neither helped. Anything else that I might be able to try or any log files from nest that I can grab for further support?
