Chromecast not connecting to tv

Hi I seem to be having trouble with connecting my Chromecast to my tv it worked before but it's stopped working last week it does keep saying that it is connected but nothing is coming up on the TV and I've also ended up buying a new plug and cable to see if that works and helps but it's still the same so I'm out of options as what to do can you please help me in anyway ? From a frustrated strachan862 😒🙄😮💨😖

It's a world wide Google problem. I found out is BBC. We have to sit and wait until they fix it.

Ok and Thankyou very much for replying back 👍🏼🙂 I thought there was something wrong with my Chromecast but now I know why 👍🏼.

What WiFi frequency band do you try to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)? My wifi is BT and I don't know what frequency it is 

Have there been any recent changes to your environment, such as a change in WiFi network or recent outages? Nope 

Have you tried to connect the Chromecast to another HDMI port on your TV? Yeah I had tried that but it still isn't working it keeps saying it's connected or connecting but nothing's happening

Hi my Chromecast is still not working and it says on the email that the problem has been fixed but I've tried it again and it's still not working I'm getting a bit annoyed about this now as it worked before but it's not not can anyone help me please

Thank you for your timely response and the comprehensive information you've provided. It is my pleasure to continue assisting you to find the solution.

Based on the information you shared, I recommend you try the following troubleshooting steps.

  1. • Reboot your Chromecast. Here are the instructions:
    • Unplug the Chromecast from the power source and from the HDMI port of your TV. Wait one or two minutes, then plug it back in.
  2. Make sure your Android device is up-to-date. You can follow these instructions:
    • On the phone, open “Settings.”
    • Scroll to “About phone” and tap it.
    • Tap “System updates.”
    • The screen should show whether the system is up-to-date and when the update server was last checked. You can optionally select Check for updates if you want to immediately check again.
    • If an update is available, tap it to install it.

Please check if you can connect your Chromecast to your TV now, but if the inconvenience persists, please perform the following recommendations:

  1. Disconnect the WiFi router from the socket and leave it unplugged for 2 minutes. 
  2. Check if the router's LED lights are off when the router is unplugged. Some routers have backup battery packs, so you would need to disconnect the battery packs to ensure the router completely turns off.
  3. Once all router LED lights are back on and the network name shows on the list of available WiFi networks on your phone or tablet, check if the Chromecast can connect to your TV.

Hello and thanks for your reply back my Chromecast is working fine now I managed to get it working on Friday I think it was something to do with the Google home app once it had updated I got it working so it's all good now but thank you very much for your help and reply back 👍😊🙂 Very greatful
