Connection Failed Google Wi-Fi-WAN in use

When I go to connect my Google Wi-Fi to the router, it requires the WAN port. However, my apartment complex uses the WAN port to plug the router into the wall. Is there any way I can connect the mesh to the router not through the WAN??

The main/first/primary/master Nest Wifi unit must be fed an internet connection through an ethernet cable to its' WAN port, there is no way around that.

I don't work for Google.
