Control / Reduce speed to 4K Streaming on Google wifi

RukshanJ

Hi

I need to control the speed from my wifi to the tv.

As the connection speed on my ISP is high as 120 mbps, sometimes more - watching a few 4K movies finishes up my monthly data.

Can i control the speed?

No you can't, Nest Wifi does not have such capabilities.

Yes, we can close.

It would be an excellent feature to have though.  To throttle speed on selected devices.

Hey RukshanJ,

Just to make sure this is what you are looking for, you may set your TV as a priority device in the Google Home app for less buffering when watching your favorite shows and movies. Visit this guide: Set a priority device.

Let me know if this is the feature that you want.

Thanks,
Lovely

hi @LovelyM

Not that's not what I'm looking for.

I need to limit the streaming speed.

As the streaming content (4K) is over a high speed fibre - its finishing up my monthly data quota.  some times, a single movie swallows as much as 10 GB.  I need to reduce the speed.

Use a CAT3 ethernet cable which is limited to 10mbps?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't know if that would work though.
