Control over router bands

Feature request and general feedback.... The google nest router and the google home app does not allow you to turn off the 5.0 band so you can connect smart devices that almost always need 2.4 only.  I've tried physically taking smart devices as far away as possible so that 2.4 is preferred band but that wont work.  My phone shows that it would rather hang on to the 5.0 signal even with a terrible connect that jump over to 2.4.  Most consumer routers allow for you to turn on and off the bands of router.  Google needs to get on board with this or create another solution like "smart devices pairing mode" so we can actually add smart devices.  Total nightmare currently and its making me seriously consider switching router hardware to something like Ubiquiti that allows for granular control.
