Hi,
New google nest Wi-Fi is showing DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN when connecting to a website with a æøå letter. Had no problems with google Wi-Fi. The problem is only on the nest Wi-Fi. Tried to change from automatisk and ISP to Google dns, but still not working.
Working normaly on modem Wi-Fi.
Any suggestions?

Hello @Kjeld
Can you provide an example domain name? I would like to escalate this, but they'll want to have something they can test with.

I get the same error actually. I believe this worked before 22Q1 / M94 / 14150.43.80. Example (my dentist):
DNS: 1.1.1.1 set with Google Home, default/ DHCP on client.

Ok, this is really interesting. That does not resolve for me through the Google WiFi router, but does resolve when I go directly to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google) DNS servers. So, this does look like a regression. I'll escalate.
P.S. Interestingly, since I have Chrome configured to do DNS-over-HTTPS resolution itself, it loaded that site successfully, which could mask this bug for many people.

I'm seeing the exact same issue, it seems DNS requests for domains containing special characters (IDNs) will fail to resolve on the Nest router. If I bypass the router, there's no problem...
Software version: 14150.43.80

I have the same issue, when connected to my Google nest wifi.
Also using software version 14150.43.80.
Trying to Access:

I'm having the same issue trying to access skäggman.se. I have been googling solutions like crazy and fiddling with DNS settings, so I'm glad I now found this thread! 😌
Probably a dumb question, but how will users be notified of the fix? I suppose there will be an update rolling out?
Better bookmark this thread and stay up to date!

It's not just Europe affected. I'm seeing this behavior on lots of sites in the US as well. Home Depot being the biggest issue I've seen. Basics will just not load. I'm assuming session tokens on their subframes using the we are characters being the issue. But apps are also having issues Libby, key bank,.... All work fine on cellular but fail on wifi.

Hey, everyone.
I just wanted to check in with you again. This is being worked on now and the teams are aware of the scope of the issue and a fix will be released soon. Thanks to all who are reporting the details of what they're seeing. It's definitely helpful. If you have questions, please let me know.
Thanks.

Hi, everyone.
I just wanted to check in to let you know that progress is being made on addressing this and ongoing tests are taking place to determine the actual cause and roll out a fix. Thanks to everyone who is hanging in there with us on this, I'm sure it's been frustrating.

Hi, all.
I got word that the fix for this is going out now. If you haven't tried it recently, go ahead and give your network a quick restart. If you still see the same problem after the restart, please let me know.
Thanks.

Will this bump the firmware version? I tried a reboot, still doesn't work. No firmware version bump (still on 14150.43.80), nor any newer firmware pending according to api status page.

Hi, all.
Let me find out about the firmware version and if it will change or if it's simply a minor fix to the current version. I don't have a fix rollout schedule, just word that the issue has been resolved and the fix will be going out as soon as they can. Sorry it's a bit vague, but at least we know they did find a fix and are working to deliver it.
Thanks.

Hi, again.
I got some more news about this last night. The fix is going out right now and it will automatically update on your WiFi router and points. By the end of this week, all users will have the update pushed to them. You may need to reset your network for the settings to go into effect, but if by the end of the weekend you're still seeing the same issues, please let me know.
Also, since this is a hotfix to the last firmware release, the firmware version won't update.
Thanks.

Thanks,
I did have them all reboot roughly tuesday night and start showing version change 14150.43.81 from ...80
I am not haveing the issues I was in accessing certain sites. But curious about the version change if it was not for this. Any chance there is a release notes for this?

Hey, stgubala1.
We don't have any published release notes as of right now, but I will drop a link to those here if they show up. I was told it wasn't changing the firmware release, but that's definitely an updated number. I'll ask again about an updated number to me 100% certain.
Thanks.

Hey, drklug.
I have yet to see any published patch notes for this release, but I'll share them if they are released. I'm happy to hear it's working for you!
Thanks.

Hi, everyone.
It doesn't look like patch notes on this release are going to be released. I did want to check in however to make sure everyone was ok now and we didn't have anyone still seeing this issue. If you have problems still, please let me know.
Thanks.

This issue appears to be gone for me. But having some odd Lag issues that I can't track down. Like the whole network pauses. If I drop the devices back to cellular the connections are still valid. Just not working for periods through the wifi. No impacts from hardwired devices. But that is a different issue so. Yes this is closed for me
05-18-2022 10:44 AM
Hi, stgubala1.
If that issue you're seeing persists, definitely start up a new thread on that. It seems to be a different problem, for sure.
Thanks everyone who participated in the thread here. I'll go ahead and mark this one as resolved. If anyone needs anything else, please feel free to start up a new thread.
Thanks.

I have rebooted my network several times but still no firmware update.

I have also rebooted several times and also still no firmware upgrade.
How long time can we expect it will take for the firmware to be upgraded?
05-12-2022 08:50 PM
I have version 14150.43.81 and can confirm it fixes the issues. Is there any public trelrsse notes for this version?
thanks for fixing!
