Hi Athom100,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the issue that you are experiencing while you are trying to add a Google Nest Wifi router as an access point to an existing network. I understand that you are receiving the error message "DNS resolution failed for googlehomefoyer- pa.googleapis.com:443: UNKNOWN: nodename nor servname provided, or not known." Don't worry; help is here. I just need to ask for some information.

  • What is the exact Google Wifi device that you have? You can check the "What Google Nest Wifi device do I have?" article to find out.
  • Are you using an iOS or Android phone for the setup process?
  • How far is the Google Wifi device from the Wi-Fi router?
  • What's the color of the lights on the parent and child points?
  • Do you have any switches in your network setup?

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,
Jenny
