I set up an Epson ET3850 printer with Google Nest WiFi about 6 months ago. It connected to the network and worked fine wirelessly. After a period of not being used, it disconnects from WiFi and is not available to print over WiFi. If I restart the printer, it will find the network again and work fine until it goes inactive again. Any idea how to maintain the link between the printer and Google Nest WiFi?
Epson Technical Support said the printer "idle time out" disconnects from the WiFi after 5 minutes and to turn the idle time out off on the Google Nest. I cannot figure out how to do this.
I checked the printer settings (General Setting, Basic Settings, Power Off Timer and it is set to "off" so the printer does not turn off after being idle.
I also checked the printer settings (General Settings, Basic Settings, Sleep Timer and it is set to 60 minutes. The acceptable range is 1-60 minutes; the user does not have the ability to disable the timer.
Thank you for your help!

Similar issue with my HP except rebooting doesn’t reconnect it - never did. Fix was simple, though: find & select reconfigure network settings. But now that isn’t working either, nor the other more complicated suggestions found online. Currently I cannot connect my printer to Wi-Fi at all. Was connected and working fine for over a year before this problem began.

Thanks SassyFrass for the feedback. Nuts on your unresolved printer WiFi connection issue!
I would use a cable to connect the Mac to the printer, but "She Who Must Be Obeyed" likes to print wirelessly so I created a dopey workaround. I inserted a smart plug between the printer and the power source and set up schedules to reboot the printer every hour from 6 am to 9 pm (recall I set the Epson ET3850 sleep timer to the maximum allowable 60 minutes). Fortunately for us the Epson ET3850 printer does reconnect to the WiFi after rebooting. We have sent a half dozen print jobs since the revised setup and this stupid workaround seems to be working ..... so far.
