Is there a way to request features that would be nice to have in the Nest Wifi Pro? I would love to be able to disable all bands except 2.4 ghz or be able to have the guest network only be 2.4 ghz.
Thanks

I would also like to know how to force connect devices to the 2.4 GHz. I cannot get my Govee lights to connect to the Wi-Fi, which means I can't utilize them through my Google home 😕. I'm also having issues with cameras from SimpliSafe.

Hey folks,
Thanks for posting ― let's see what's going on.
The Nest Wifi Pro uses the same name for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band networks. This means that the Wi-Fi network uses both radio bands. But keep in mind: while both bands can be used, the personal devices (a smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.) will connect to only one radio band at any given time. Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Wifi, Google Wifi, or OnHub attempts to select the band that will deliver the best performance for your device. Currently there is no option to manually disable either of the bands or to connect to them separately.
If you'd like to connect a specific device to 2.4 GHz, give these steps a whirl:
Create a hotspot with a mobile phone. However, 2 mobile phones are required:
Use the first device to create a hotspot (mobile phone).
How to set up a mobile hotspot:
Android
Go to Settings.
Tap the Network & internet option.
Select Hotspot & tethering.
Tap on Wi-Fi hotspot.
Set up the hotspot name and password the same as the primary network.
Choose the AP Band > 2.4 GHz band > Apply.
iOS:
Go to Settings.
Tap on Cellular. Tap the slider to turn Cellular Data on.
Under Cellular, tap the slider to turn Personal Hotspot on.
Tap the slider next to Allow Others to Join.
Set up the hotspot name password the same as the primary network.
To change the hotspot password, under Personal Hotspot Wi-Fi Password.
To change the hotspot name, go to Settings > General > About > Name.
Use the second device to connect to the mobile hotspot.
Disconnect all of the Google Wifi or Nest Wifi points from the power outlet.
Connect the device to the 2.4 GHz band of the hotspot with the same SSID and password of the current network (case sensitive).
Once connected to the hotspot, plug in your primary Google Wifi point or the Nest Wifi router.
Turn off the hotspot and check if the device automatically connects to the Google Wifi network.
Also, we appreciate your interest in requesting new features for our Nest Wifi Pro. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I suggest that you send feedback by following this link.
Best,

Abi,
Thanks for the reply. I am well aware of the work around you mentioned I was simply asking how to do the feature request which your have now provided.
I really appreciate this, and will now submit my feedback for this feature.
When I bought this WiFi solution I didn't really think it would be so primitive in what was allowed in configuration abilities.
I guess that isn't the type of user this product was assuming for.
Either way, thanks again!
Jon

Thank you @AbigailF for the feedback. I am not sure what magic happened but somewhere between 24 and 36 hours the lights and the router came to an agreement and decided to play nice with one another.
As others have mentioned it is unfortunate that we are unable to assign devices to particular bands but I suspect this will be less of an issue as Matter devices roll out. Additionally, for ease of use to the general public, this plug-and-play model is helpful on a broader scale. But the tinkerers want to tinker 😊 and we can't 😕. Again, thanx for your help. Stay safe.
