Fios G1100 Bridge Mode

Can anyone provide instructions on putting the Fios Quantum Gateway 1100 in bridge mode?

Fios came to my house and claims it is in bridge mode. Google says it is not in bridge mode and that it is still putting out wifi signal.  The ethernet ports on the back of the QG are also still working, which I understand will not be the case if in bridge mode.

Thanks!

Perhaps I'm slow but those dont really seem to answer how to put the the 1100 in bridge mode (or whatever is necessary to avoid double NAT.

In the second link, the following is tagged as the solution.

The settings you are changing in the G1100 are basically turning the G1100 into a MoCA adapter. It's turning off the DHCP server so the Google hands out IPs. It's also putting the G1100 and STBs in the Google's subnet so there's no double NAT. The G1100 doesn't technically have a bridge mode like a modem does.

I read it as bypass/ drop using the 1100, plug Nest Wifi straight into the "Ont box", whatever that is.

This is a community to help with Nest Wifi, maybe you'll have better luck asking your ISP?

I don't work for Google.

Hey wjw1,

Thanks for providing all the info in the thread about your situation. I just wanted to check in and see if you took olavrb's advice and contacted your ISP on this yet. If so, were they able to give you any info that proved helpful?

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks,

Hey everyone,

It looks like we've slowed down here. We'll be closing up the thread in the next day unless anyone else has any input or needs anything else. If so, just let me know and we can keep this open a bit longer.

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks to everyone for their comments.  Sorry for the delay in responding.

I have worked with Fios repeatedly to try to get the G1100 in "bridge mode."  The agents over the phone werent much help (didnt understand what "bridge" meant).  Then Fios sent out a service agent.  He said the G1100 is now in bridge mode.  However, google tells me that it is continuing to put out wifi signal (and the LAN ports on the back of the G1100 continue to work as well, which google says they should not).

Hey wjw1,

Sorry for the late circle back on this. I wanted to check in and see if everything was working after the visit from your ISP tech. I know you said things weren't lining up between what your ISP saw and what Google support was seeing, but were things working? How are things now?

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks, Jeff.

No luck at all. Google says the Nest router needs to be upstream from the Fios router. However, that interferes with Fios tv.

Fios router has wifi disabled and the techs say it is in bridge mode.

google says there is double NAT. Fios says that’s ridiculous.

It's been some time since we touched base on this. I wanted to check back in and see if you got things working properly or to see if you could still use some help on this. If you're needing more input, just let me know.

Thanks,
Jeff
