Gen 1 google wifi can't go over 100 mbps

I just upgraded my Xifinity plan from 100 mbps to 600. When I connect my laptop directly to the modem (SB6190), I get 700+mbps which is great. But I can only get about 100 mbps connecting to Google WIFI, even if I use an ethernet cable to directly connect my laptop to the Google Wifi port. It seems like the router can't handle anything more than 100 mbps. This does not make any sense to me. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

It does handle above 100mbps, but it applies QoS to try to make sure important traffic gets prioritized. Raw download numbers isn't important traffic.

But at those speeds there should be no need for QoS/ preferred activities, so you could leave them disabled. I've had all preferred activities turned off for years now, home office hasn't had any hiccups.

I don't work for Google.

What ethernet cables do you use? I've read that people struggle with Nest Wifi together with CAT6a, which should be no problem. But a CAT5e works with gigabit speeds no problem. So try with CAT5e cables only, for all cables going from/ to Nest Wifi.

After some digging, I turned off my "preferred activity" and "cloud service" and rebooted nest wifi. It now gives me 500+ mbps around the primary node and 200-300 mpbs downstairs. That is good enough for me.

But I do have frequent teams/zoom meetings, would i be better of with current setting or turning "preferred activity" back on ?
