I have the 3rd generation nest thermostat and it will not stay connected to my WiFi. I reset and it connects, but within a few minutes, it drops again. It’s only 6 months old and it used to drop infrequently, but now it’s every day.

I’m heavily invested in Google home devices, doorbell, cameras, protect and Google speakers. I’ve kept my previous mesh system up and running with devices connected to that until recently see stability in the Google nest Wi-Fi. I’m using for work and family using their devices connected to it. Unfortunately they complain nearly daily of drop outs. It’s just about workable for me doing work.
Last firmware update was November 2023, hopefully Google will provide an update shortly on the next firmware update for Q1 2023.
Stability and performance not there yet, occasionally you get run of good days but it’s very patchy at best.

Hi. Ever since I posted that issue, my nest has stayed connected to my WiFi. Did you send out an update to the software by any chance?

Hey Kacahill,
I’m happy to hear that the situation has gotten better now. There hasn’t been any news about any recent updates. Your Nest Wifi router will automatically receive over-the-air updates about any software and hardware-related fix or firmware updates as long as it's constantly powered on and connected to the Wi-Fi network. To make sure that the issue doesn’t happen again, let’s monitor it for a few more days. Let me know if you have any other questions or clarifications for now.
