I recently purchased a three pack of the Google Neat Pro 6E and deployed them throughout the house. I am having all sorts of slow downs and seemingly very poor performance issues.
I am significantly disappointed that there is no way to change the 5GHz channel. Further disappointing is that Google, who I’ve thought of as a pretty standards based organization, has placed all three of these Nest Pro devices on the same channel. 149.
For background, I manage the wireless infrastructure at a medium sized university, and basic WiFi design tells us that we should be choosing different 5GHz channels for a system such as the Nest Mesh. Especially since the mesh communications is on the 6GHz channels. So, I can’t change the channel, and these devices are causing their own interference. This is a very poor design, and doesn’t in any way follow the standards of WiFi deployment.
How do I ensure that all three units are on different 5GHz channels, and not all on 149? I have not ever had an issue on 5GHz until this configuration. How can it be corrected?

Nothing you can do about it, as 5ghz uses static channel selection which varies per region. More info from earlier threads:

This is a terrible design, and worse yet, takes away from the visionary of standards and open source that Google is. I will be getting rid of the product, as it does not meet the needs or expectations. This is something that should have been defined on their product page in big letters "WE DO NOT WORK WITHIN THE WIFI STANDARDS, OUR PRODUCT ONLY SUPPORTS A SINGLE 5GHZ CHANNEL".
