I have Verizon Fios GigSpeed and use the RJ45 port on the ONT and do not use a Verizon router or MoCa. I have one Nest WiFi Pro to replace my old AirPort Extreme.
I have not been able to run a speed test on any device iOS, MacOS, Android, or WinOS and received a report of my full bandwidth. All devices are 802.11ax but not 6GHz compatible. The most I get is 100MB/s upload and >50MB/s upload.
As the Nest WiFi Pro uses a unified SSID instead of separate channels I can’t determine if my devices are connecting to the 2.4 or 5GHz band.
I have tested the Ethernet cable from the ONT to the router and the patch cable. Tried pinging the gateway from the router patch cable and had no loss. Continuity is also good.
I have factory reset the router, changed the SSID, turned off IPv6, and WAP3. I have restarted my devices and reinstalled the app. Still the LAN connection in the app is 1000MB/s but the results on my device is the same as above.
The router is at software version 1.63.355999. Google Home app version 3.2.104.
For context I am certified and service Cisco routers, switches, and USC with over 10 years of telecom experience. When it said Pro I was expecting pro capabilities. Now I’m questioning my decision to purchase this router.
