Google Nest Wifi Router can't find Internet

I have a fiber connection DHCP, when trying to set up my nest wifi router it can't find a connection. I can plug old ASUS router in and it works fine. What is going on?

---Try Brand New Nest Router. Same Results.

---Stayed with Suddenlink Cable...

---Never got an explanation from Vexus either...

Any updates on this? I am experiencing same issue. I had a Google Wifi Gen 1 router and it connects to by Vexus ISP just fine and I can add Gen 1 and Gen 2 access points. I recently decided to update to the Nest Wi-Fi Router and can’t get it to connect to my ISP. I then decided to try adding the Nest WiFi router as an access point so that it could get any updates, which it did (Version 14150.43.81) thinking that would maybe solve my issue. So I went through the hassle of factory resetting network again and tried to connect ISP to nest wifi and it will not connect to internet still. Very frustrating. Any other suggestions?

@Mcl2

Thanks for asking. Been meaning to update.

Brand new Google Nest Wi-Fi router from Best Buy, even once latest firmware update installed,  did not connect to Vexus Fiber.

Myself and the Google Tech tried everything under the sun.

I ended up staying with Suddenlink after all.

Still have the fiber line installed of course. I'd like to be able to connect the Nest router someday.

I feel like it's still something on the Vexus end. The Fiber Line was dug and laid in my neighborhood just 2 weeks prior to my attempts to hook up. More than anything, it seemed like Vexus gave up on any help right off the bat. It's almost like they wanted me to rent their router..

I hope someone figures this out. I have the Google Nest Wi-Fi mesh network currently working with Suddenlink cable. Vexus Fiber is coming to our area soon.

Did this ever get resolved? My nest router decided to quit today. Connects to Netgear cm1000v2 router. Total factory reset twice. Ethernet cat7 cable from router directly to PC dock works fine but best can't detect internet. Over an hour with google support and still no Wi-Fi.

No, never could get it resolved. I'm still using my Asus router and then going to the google mesh.

I am using US Internet fiber and have the same issue with my nest router (H2D), version 14150.376.32

Factory resetting my nest can get it working, but when the connection gets reset (power outage) it sometimes doesn't register with my fiber correctly (cannot ping externally).

My guess is the nest doesn't auto-negotiate speed / duplex correctly with fiber connections. Could be how the ISP is managing their network. If a Google rep is reading, can you provide an update or should I open a separate thread? Thanks for your help.

Hi, did you manage to solve this problem?  I can't get my Next router to see the internet, despite showing a white washing LED and the ORCON tech telling me he can see it at his end.

@Dobbyn

Not sure it's been resolved.

You can see all I tried on my end, and results above.

If you figure something out, or not, please update.

Thx!

Same issues here. Suddenly stopped working and after factory reset the Wifi units cannot connect to internet from cable.

Hey jeepraptor,

My apologies. Let me get this checked with our senior specialist. I'll get back to you as soon as I get an update from them. Please tell me if there have been any changes made to your network setup before and now.

Regards,
Lovely

Hello, something to try would be allowing users to adjust settings for automatic negotiation of speed and duplex vs static settings. I get that the settings available to the users are meant to be for non-IT users, but I'm curious if during a power cycle the equipment for my fiber converter auto negotiates improperly, preventing a connection. Hope that helps find the solution.
