Google Nest Wifi access point says wrong QR code

RasmusNygaard

Hello,

I recently moved house and wanted to start fresh with all my smart devices.

Therefore I factory reset my Google Nest wifi devices.

The two Routers I have connected perfectly but the two acces point devices says "Wrong QR code" when I scan the QR code underneath.

I tried taping the "Continue without scanning", but I cannot type number into the input field on the app. Only lowercase letters.

How can I solve this issue?

Hi, RasmusNygaard.

Sorry about the setup issues you've been having with your Nest WiFi. I'm having a little trouble understand the issue you're having putting the numbers in. When you say "only lowercase letters," are you saying that it won't accept inputs of any other types of characters, or is your device limiting what you can type for some reason? If you can give me a bit more clarity about what's happenings there, I'm sure we can figure it out.

Thanks.

Hello Jeff,

I fixed my problem by updating the Google Home app on Google Play Store.
Now the QR code did read correctly, so I never tried the manual input of serial numbers.

It was a weird problem though (probably caused because of my old version of the app), but I could not input uppercase letters or numbers into the input field.

When I typed a number my gboard on the android phone it would register the number (and suggest spelling), but there did not appear a number in the input field on the app.

I do not now if this problem still exists as I have successfully connected the Access Point via the QR method.

Good work sorting this out, RasmusNygaard.

Before I mark this as resolved for you, are there any other questions you might have?

Thanks.
