Google Nest Wifi modem

Jerrymonger

I have verizon wifi and we used the verizon router that had both a router and a modem, but I never had the coax cable plugged in and I never had any Issues connecting to the internet. I set up my Nest wifi router with Verizon wifi but when I returned the verizon router, my internet connection was also lost while still keeping the wifi connection. When I still had the verizon router, even though it was not plugged in, we had access to internet without a modem connected to the google router. What is going on? I can get a modem but I want to know why the verizon router was able to work without a coax cable and why we were able to get internet access up until we gave the verizon router back.

Hi Jerrymonger,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Google WiFi. The Google WiFi needs to be plugged into your internet provider's modem to create your WiFi network. Please let us know more about how your Google WiFi is set up to further isolate the issue.

Thanks,

Edward

Thank you so much for your responses, I’m sorry I didn’t reply earlier! I found out that our service had actually been cut off because when I returned the modem to Verizon, they shut off our service too, haha. It was solved really quickly after that 😅
