Google Pro WiFi and Google WiFi point

Can a google wifi point be used on a google wifi pro network as a speaker only?  My router died but I have 3 points with speakers in them.

No, it can not. Unfortunately.

I don't work for Google.

Hey Doubletap777,

It looks like olavrb was able to answer the question you had. I realize it's not the answer you were looking for, but I can provide some context. The new Nest WiFi Pro communicates point to point on a 6GHz band to avoid congestion at the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands (where most WiFi devices communicate), and the older models do not have a 6GHz band for communication, hence the incompatibility.

I did want to check, however, is there anything else I can do for you here? If so, let me know.

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for the follow up Jeff.

I do realize how the new Wi-Fi pro communicates, it just would have been ideal if they had designed the older points the speaker as a separate built-in component.

I’ve resorted to purchasing a couple of mini’s to put in there place (found a brand new one for $5 on FB already).

Again, thanks for the input.
