Google Wi-Fi speed dropping by 1/2

I recently bought Google Wifi AC1200 (1-pack) to test out the Wifi speed before I purchase 2 more Wifi points to create a mesh Wifi network for my house.  I truly like the look of it, and how it feels in your hand.  I think it's cool design.  However, I ran into a Wifi speed issue I thought perhaps something is not right and want to ask the forum before I conclude my test.  I only have one Google Wifi router in my network.  My network is quite simple to allow me to verify the speed at each connection.  See the attached picture.

Xfinity -> Modem -> Google Wifi router -> Unmanaged GB Switch-> PC

Google Wifi Slow.png

From my verification:

1.  Google Home indicates that I have almost 900Mbps coming from ISP

2.  My PC connecting directly to the switch via wired ethernet indicates 939 Mbps

3.  But I only get 1/2 of the speed from the Wifi router through my iPhone & laptop that are located right next to the Wifi router.

No other devices are on the network.

Question:  Why am I not getting full speed from the Wifi connection?

Thanks

The number 1200 in AC1200 is made by adding the theoretical max of 2.4ghz; 300mbps, with the theoretical max of 5ghz; 867mpbs. And then some rounding to make it look nicer. You'll however only be connected to either 2.4ghz or 5ghz, not both at once, so you'll never get the combined theoretical max of 1200mbps.

Theoretical max is also never actually achivable, that's just how Wi-Fi is. I'd expect you to not get much higher numbers than what you measured.

There are Nest Wifi units that can give you faster Wi-Fi speeds though, like the Nest Wifi router (AC2200), or Nest Wifi Pro (Wi-Fi 6E, AXE5400). Here are the specifications of the various units:
