Google WiFi Issues

My router all of a sudden wouldn't let me connect. After unplugging and resetting a few times I did a factory reset. It is removed now from my Google account. I have reset it a few times following the below instructions but it always ends up with a solid white light and I can't reconnect it to my account.

Could you unplug the power from your Nest Wifi router for a few minutes and make sure that the Ethernet cable connected to your modem is disconnected? Once done, please do the steps below:

  1. Plug the power cord back in. Then, press and hold the factory reset button for 10 seconds. The light will flash yellow, then turn solid yellow. When the light is solid yellow, release the button.
  2. The reset process will start, which can take up to 10 minutes. Don't unplug the power cord during this process.
  3. When factory reset is complete, the light on your router will pulse white.
  4. After the device has been reset, the device will still appear in the Google Home app. To remove the device, follow the instructions for app factory reset. To set up again, add your device back to your existing network or  create a new network.

Hi Antiochguitar,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand your Google Wifi is stuck on a solid white light and won't reconnect to your account. I appreciate all the troubleshooting steps you've already done. No worries, I'm here to help!

To find the best solution, I'd like to know the following:

  • What's your specific Google Wifi model? Please check out the following link for your reference: Tech specs for Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Wifi, and Google Wifi
  • How many Google Wifi devices do you have?
  • Do you have a router modem combo?
  • Are you getting any error code on the google home app while you try to complete the set up process?

Please keep me in the loop.

Regards,
Juan
