Google WiFi Pro buffering

We have a google nest wifi pro system set up in our house.  We have 3 units (1 acting as modem and 2 as extenders).  Our signal coming in from fiber source is averaging 800 mbps but we are still buffering.  Not sure what is going on.  I have tried unplugging and letting them set and rebooting but still having this issue.  Are there any known issues software wise that need to be updated?

I’m sorry to hear that your internet signal coming from the fiber source is averaging 800 mbps and you are still buffering, even though you are using a Google WiFi Pro system. Thank you for sharing with us the troubleshooting steps you have tried, so I can better assist you. No worries, help is here.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • When did the issue start?
  • Do you have a modem-router combo from your ISP?
  • Do you have any type of switch?
  • Can your devices use a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band?
  • What is the make and model of your modem?
  • What country are you located in?

In the meantime, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Run a mesh test to check the connection of your points. If you get a "weak" rating, try moving the Wi-Fi point closer to their primary router or point.
  2. Run a 2-minute power cycle:
    1. Disconnect the modem from its power source.
    2. Unplug the Ethernet cable and power cord from the parent point.
    3. Remove the power cord from the child point.
    4. Leave everything unplugged for 2 minutes.
      • Start a timer to track.
      • Make sure there isn't a backup battery. If there’s a backup battery, ask the customer to remove the battery; otherwise it won't perform a power cycle.
    5. Connect the power cable to the modem and allow the modem to fully turn on before proceeding.​ This process can take up to a minute.
      • All light indicators should be solid colors.
      • Connect the Ethernet cable, then the power cable, to the parent point. Wait until the modem is fully back online.
    6. Connect the power cable to the child point(s).
