Google Wifi Point not staying connected

The question would be am I alone in this Google AP problem? Is there a fix for this?

Worked great for 8-9 months with no connectivity issues. Then the access point started dropping connection to the router. Of course a power cycle of the AP brings it right back up. As time went by more and more power cycles are required. I've gone as far as factory resetting the whole network (including the point) and reinstalling it. Google Wifi Support is slow to respond and I got a bit disgusted and didn't engage for a bit. The last time I was told I had to wait for it to happen again, after giving the person access to look at the router, write back and then they would escalate it to another tier. I could see what the issue is when I was troubleshooting it between support sessions. Connectivity isn't great anymore. There has been no structural changes to the house, equipment/furniture moved, no hanging of TVs/Mirrors, nothing to cause this degradation. Of course I wrote back and was asked to give that same access again, pull logs for them with a laptop and everything. Not sure what good it does giving them access if they don't use it.
Google has since discontinued the access points with the built in speakers and direction is now that if you cannot find a replacement that you can purchase another router and set it up as an access point. I am guessing this is because of the lesser internal antennas in the AP itself. Maybe it's that they've had problems with the APs going out.
Truly outside of moving the router and point closer together (which would take some craftiness) I am left with purchasing a new system as this system is just over the year mark. I shouldn't have to move these things as they are approximately 30 ft. away from the router through 1 closet if you drew a straight line. I have a whole Google Ecosystem with cams, displays, minis, thermostat, ect. I love being able to do everything from the home app but If I have to buy new equipment I'm not going to upgrade to the Pro version, I'll just purchase something else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So just an update, after reinitiating the ticket with Google they finally agreed to gain the diagnostic data for the network and escalate it to their second tier. What is frustrating is that this wasn't done previously and I was told to wait until it happened again. I'll keep peeps posted if anything else happens.
