Hi just got Verizon 5G Home internet Gateway setup today and would like to connect Google wifi to Verizon Gateway since I was using it and Google Wifi is doing pretty good job connecting all my devices.

my question is have anyone using Verizon 5G Gareway and successfully connect to Google wifi? There is two LAN port on Gateway but I’m not sure which is needed to connect to Google wifi…. Any feedback or tips? TIA.

There's a lot info about how to do this already around on the internet, such as:
https://blinqblinq.com/can-google-nest-wifi-connect-to-existing-router/

Nest/Google wifi is meant to be used as a standalone router/mesh wifi system, rather than being attached to an existing router setup like the Verizon. It can be done, but it does make things pretty complicated.

Thanks for the reply, just want to give update here in case ppl need it in future.

Conclusion is Google wifi works with Verizon 5G home internet Gateway! Seamlessly with no issues at all! My Verizon Gateway is the newer model looks like square box and underneath got 2 LANs, LAN1 &2. Simply connect the Google wifi router to LAN1 of Verizon Gateway and Voila! All setup! I do have to state that before doing this, the Google Wifi is not straight out of box, the Google wifi has been used for my current internet provider and all detail setup is already been done in Google Home app(SSID,pw,etc,.) and i did not change anything just simply connect the main router to gateway. Now all my devices used to connect to the SSID Google wifi had still connect to the same SSID(Since i did not change any). And that's why I say seamlessly, I don't need to grab all devices and update ssid and pw one by one. Thank you Google!

I also tried the same. I have a new 5G Verizon Gateway and old Google Wifi pucks that I used with my former internet provider. When I connected Google Wifi to the Gateway, I started to see some network issues. Some devices had trouble connecting to the Internet. And the internet speed performance slowed down (but was fast enough for me). Chpbear3,  I’m curious to know if you experience network issues over time like I did.

Hi after almost a week of new Verizon Gateway with Google Wi-Fi I only faced one device had connection issue which is my smart Samsung tv. I found tv couldn’t connect to Google Wi-Fi (even tho the ssid is exact the same). I have to re connect tv to Wi-Fi setup again but tv couldn’t see the Wi-Fi.. I do some research  and found workaround is to turn on cell phone hotspot and tv can see the wifi(weird). Now tv connect to Google wifi good and no issue. All other devices I have is cell phones, security cameras, ring doorbell, some appliances and laptops. All devices connect automatically once Google wifi setup completely. Hope this helps.

Oh and one thing I seen some YouTube found ppl disable band steering and setup 2.4g and 5G manually. So I setup my Gateway accordingly.  For speed the 5G wifi straight from Gateway is the fastest(dl~300M+). Then Google wifi (200-300M shifting) the 2.4G from Gateway is the slowest. All my devices connect to Google wifi except some devices I can manual control easily like cell phone and smart tv I connect to Gateway 5G since mostly newer devices can support 5G no need to connect older device to 5G
