Hi,
I recently had issues with my virgin fibre coming into my home which required me to restart my modem (which is configured as modem only mode). Once the broadband was back up, my Google Wi-Fi points and router were not finding internet (flashing amber). I tried everything to get it working and in the end I had to factory reset my router and Wi-Fi points.
My mesh network was working fine for a couple of weeks but over the past couple of days the internal speed test in the Google home app is showing speeds of 18 down and 36 up. When I test outside of the app, I am getting speeds of over 450mb down. I’ve not seen this behaviour before in the Google app but have found on the community forums that many people have seen similar issues but I can’t see anything suggesting how to resolve the throttling of speed issues in the mesh network.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Hey Emzyme20,
Thanks for posting — let's see what's going on.
Are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? How many devices are dropping from the network? Also, do you have any paused devices?
Give these steps a try:
Let us know how it goes.
Best,
Mel

Thanks for the reply. I have my router setup in modem only mode so that it does not interfere with Google. I have recycled the Google router and access points a couple of times and it was still showing much slower speed tests.
I left it for several days whilst waiting to see if anyone answered this post and then when I checked the Google Wi-Fi app on my phone over the weekend, the latest speed test that it did was back up to 500+mb down. I’ve no idea what fixed it.

Hey Emzyme20,
Awesome — glad to hear that your issue is fixed. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.
Best,
Mel
