Google home and Google Wi-Fi

For some reason Google Wi-Fi will not migrate into the home app. This is not a new setup .I've had Google Wi-Fi for years. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Google home app ,and that did not help. They're simply is no option in Google home to migrate Google Wi-Fi. The only way I have found is to invite a member into my home app and then that member has access to Google Wi-Fi. But in my account the account that Google Wi-Fi is set up in does not show up in Google home

I'm guessing you've read this already?

I notice it says you have to use the same Google account in the Wifi app as you're using in Google Home, or the import option won't appear.  Specifically:

Only the owner of the Google Wifi network can migrate Google Wifi and OnHub networks to the Google Home app. For 'Import Google Wifi network' to appear, log into the Google Home app with the same account that is used as the 'Owner' in the Google Wifi app.

Check which account is the owner:

  1. Open the Google Wifi app Juzdu_0-1648608781206.png

    .
  2. Tap Menu Juzdu_1-1648608781267.png

     and select your Wifi network.
  3. Tap Settings and actions tab Juzdu_2-1648608781312.png

     Network and general Juzdu_4-1648608780832.png

     Managers.

Note: If you use multiple accounts with the Google Wifi app for different networks and can’t find the network that you’re looking for, you may need to switch accounts in the Google Wifi app to find your network owner.

To change accounts in the Google Home app for Wifi migration

  1. Open the Google Home app Juzdu_5-1648608781212.jpeg

  2. At the top right, tap your account.
  3. Tap your current account name and then choose the owner account found in the Google Wifi app. If your account isn’t listed, tap Add another account.
  4. Once the correct account is selected, you should be able to migrate your network.

I am using the same account for Google home and the Wi-Fi network. And migration does not appear in the home app. The only way I'm able to migrate is to use a different account sign in as a guest on the home app

Problem is like this. In Google home my primary account I had Google Wi-Fi in there. I created a new home in the Google home app, same account. And deleted the original home. When I created the new home .Google Wi-Fi never showed up again. I didn't realize I would lose it if I created a new home and deleted the original home. In the Google home app. My only solution so far was to add another account to Google home and when I do that Google Wi-Fi shows up in my alternate account. Google Wi-Fi will not show up in my primary Google home account I don't know why.

Hi, Jjl290.

It's been some time since you were asking about this, so I wanted to check in and see if you were able to sort this out or if you're still having issues with the account migration. Let me know if you're still having issues and I would be happy to jump in and work this out with you.

Thanks.

I did not fix the problem deleting the home and then reinstalling it did not work. I did find a solution if I use my other Gmail account Google Wi-Fi shows up in Google home so that's how I access it

By any chance is your original Gmail account that's not working a GSuite account, or is it a personal account?

Hi, Jjl290.

Sorry for the long time since we replied here. I haven't been able to find a solution for the accounts issue you're facing. I did want to check back in to see if you have given it a try again since we were looking into things and to see if anything changed for you.

Thanks,

- Jeff
