Google nest wifi and Bell home hub 4000

Has anyone successfully integrated nest wifi with the bell Fibe home hub 4000.  There is no bridge mode and the wifi on my 3 pod mesh system is awful since switching to it.  Cuts in and out constantly and major connectivity issues.  Anyone have a solution or do I need to ditch bell or my google Wi-Fi points?   So frustrating

Hi RT2023,

Can you check real fast to see if you have IPv6 enabled in your advanced network settings in the Home app? If IPv6 is enabled, try turning that off and see if things change. Also, see if you have WPA3 enabled as well. Let me know if you see any changes there.

Thanks,

Jeff

IPV6 was off. WPA3 was also off.  There is no way to shut off the wifi on my bell router and no bridge mode.  I feel like they are doing it on purpose so you will use their wifi pods and no other.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help, Jeff.

RT2023, you need to have them turn off the Wi-Fi capability of their modem because it is creating a double NAT issue if two Wi-Fi networks are active in one mesh network. Check this link for more details about double NAT.

Best,

Mel

yeah That's my problem. The Bell Home Hub 4000 doesnt allow for bridge mode or to turn off the wifi.  So i may be out of luck.   I have heard DMZ could be an option

Hi RT2023,

You need to reach out to your ISP to check if that is an option.

Thanks,

Mel

Oh trust me I did.  It’s not an option.  That’s why I’m looking for a work around

Hi RT2023,

Could you request a different modem from them? Or could you confirm with them if you can use a different modem other than what they provided to avoid the double NAT issue?

Best,

Mel

I figured out how to fix. Turn off whole home wifi. Then turn off all three bands. Problem seems to be solved but max speed of 500mbs

Hello RT2023,

Awesome — glad to hear that your issue is fixed. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.

Cheers,
