We've had our Google nest for just under 2 years (main + extenders). Today the main wont power on at all so we've had no wifi! How do we fix this?

Hi there!

Thank you for bringing your concern to us.

Before we dive into potential solutions, it's important to clarify that you're referring to the Google Nest WiFi router (main and extenders) if that's not your case, please let me know the exact model of your Nest device.

Potential Solutions for Google Nest WiFi Router:

Check Power Supply:

  • Ensure the router and any extenders are plugged into working electrical outlets.
  • Check if there are any power surges or outages in your area.
  • Try plugging the router into a different outlet to rule out outlet issues.

Reset the Router:

  • Locate the reset button on the router (usually a small pinhole).
  • Use a paperclip or similar object to press and hold the button for about 10-15 seconds.
  • Release the button and wait for the router to reboot.

Check for Hardware Damage:

  • Inspect the router for any visible signs of damage, such as cracks or broken parts.

Please provide more details about the issue if you haven't already:

  • Do any lights on the router or extenders turn on?
  • Have you tried using a different power cable?
  • Is there any specific error message or behavior you're seeing on the Google Home app?

By providing more information, I can offer more tailored troubleshooting advice.

Regards,

Brandon.
