Google router issues: disrupted, displayed as offline, unable to connect Sonos

Despite high speed test, the router seems to be disrupted often, and only with “reconnecting” wifi, it operates again.

Two meshed additional routers have the same.

They are displayed as offline in the Google Home app, and when clicking through, are then indicated as online with excellent connection.

unable to connect to Sonos.

This is an ongoing issue with many people - there are several posts with similar situations related to the wifi mesh system showing offline, but working correctly.

Hi folks,

@78912, thanks for the help!

@terlanen, how's it going with your Google Wifi? Were you able to check the link that 78912 provided?

Thanks,

Edward

tx Edward - unfortuntanely no progress; the display issue is not that important; the passive mode of the meshed routers is more cumbersome

Hi terlanen,

Thanks for the response. Could you tell us more about what's happening. How often does your Google Wifi disrupts? Also, does the status light of your Google Wifi devices change when this happens?

Thanks,

Edward

Edward,

the issue with the app is easier to determoine of course, see also these screenshots: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ofCqEUQuMwTPv47DA

With regards to the disruptions, it's hard to determine. The main router seems to work fine, it's the meshed ones that seem inactive. Not sure how to demonstrate that or test something out.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the update. is there an upstream switch or are you using a modem / router combo? In some cases, the firewall of the third-party router can block Cloud services which may cause the app to indicate as offline. We could try putting the router to bridge mode if this is the case.

Thanks,

Edward

Mine shows /showed the same thing. I hadn't had any issues for quite sometime, and then last night offline, main Google router and both points. ISP modem working fine and main desktop could access the internet no problem.  I rebooted the mesh network and in under a min everything was showing online. I am still of the opinion that these issues are somehow related to the app rather than some hardware issue.
