Google wifi: fast wired, slow wifi

Hi,

• I have a 1Gbps comcast connection in my home, with the modem plugged into a Google nest Wifi (whichever the newest one is)
• If I wire my laptop to the Google Wifi nest ethernet output, I consistently get speeds of 700 to 800Mbps
• Wifi testing maxes out around 200 to 250MBps, even with the  laptop sitting 6 inches away from the Google Wifi router.  Also true for testing on my Pixel 6XL

Since it doesn't seem to be my external ISP connection, how do I boost my wifi speeds to come closer to my wired connection?
