Google wifi set up with new router

dmason1250

Just set up Hub 4000 router from Bell and I can’t get our google wifi network to work with the new router. I’ve done a factory reset on the google wifi, unplugged it and plugged it back in a few times, but the light on the google wifi is red. Thx

This thread mentions two workarounds. I'd try the first one first, "DSL passthrough":

I don't work for Google.

Thx, but those resolutions that you cite are above my cranial capabilities... I used the google wifi extenders at home problem-free for ~4 years... the upgrade to the Hub4000 seems to have rendered something completely viable, unviable...

Hey dmason1250,

Is your new Hub4000 from the same ISP and the same brand as your previous modem/router setup? Did anything else change in your network aside from the hardware swap?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff, thx for replying… the only change was the hardware (and wifi network name).

Hi folks,

I appreciate the assistance here, Jeff.

@dmason1250, I'm checking in to see if your Google Wifi router is still having issues. Are you getting an internet connection from the new Hub 4000? Is the light status on the router solid red or flashing red? Is there any change in the light status when you press the reset button?

Please manually reset your Google Wifi router again and check if the light status turns pulsing blue afterwards. Follow the steps on this support website

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,
Lovely

Hello dmason1250,

Were you able to do the steps above? I'd be glad to hear from you — I'd like to make sure your Google Wifi router is up and running.

Thanks,
Lovely

Hi, I have not been successful in restarting the google network. May have to cave in and buy/rent the telcos version.

Any ideas u may have would be much appreciated. Thx

Hey dmason1250,

I need you to answer the questions I sent previously so I can determine what your other options are. Let me know the light status on your Google Wifi go back to a pulsing blue after you've reset it and see if your new Hub 4000 is giving an internet connection or not.

Keep me posted.

Cheers,
Lovely
