Goolge router wifi - iOS devices connect to Guest Wifi for a few seconds then drop & never reconnect

HI there, I have a G router and node, in a simple small home. I have main network and a guest network. No issues with any devices on the main network. But on the guest wifi all devices work, except anything iOS ( iphone for example, of different models and software versions). These same devices are stable on the main wifi network - makes no sense. Guest wifi works with Mac laptops no worries (weird), as well as gaming consoles, windows and other devices.

My mates come over and most use iPhone, I do rather they use the guest network so they cannot connect to my home devices. But for them to connect, I do have to give them my main network, which I will need to change the password now a bit more regularly.

So what happens: iOS devices sees my guest network, it connects after putting in password, the internet works for 2 seconds, iOS device drops this wifi network and can still see it - but refuses to auto connect ( without error) or reason shown to why. If forced, it just drops it again. Sometimes says no internet connection. I did reboot the iOS device and turn off the private internet address (mac address feature) to no change.

Reboot and factory reset did no change.  what can i do? logs to look at??

Hello Gagz8,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for this experience.

A few questions: was this working before? If yes, when did this issue start? Were there any changes made to your network?

Please ensure that you are using a Wi-Fi password that doesn't contain spaces or special characters. Also, I want to check if you've reset your network using the steps here

Looking forward to your response.

Best,
Lovely

Hi there, my network password does not have any special characters or spaces. I have reset my network once before to no avail so I'm really not interested in trying that again.

It has never worked. No iOS devices are comfortable in working with the guest network Wi-Fi.

This has to be some strange compatibility issue..
