I just bought Google Wifi Pro and have connected the main router to the modem. However, I have ethernet in the room where i'm putting the second puck. I was thinking that hardwiring the puck would be better, but being the "not genius" that I am, I can't figure out if I'm should be making the connection directly to the router or to the first router puck. I hope this makes sense! Thanks for any help!

Hardwiring them can improve performance. This works best if your main Nest Wifi Pro router is physically located in the centre of your home and disable the Wi-Fi on your third party router.
Hardwire any additional routers into your main Nest Wifi Pro router. You can use unmanaged switches to achieve that if needed. Don't hardwire them all into your third party router as that should be avoided.

Thank you for the response! One more quick question....is it not possible to buy a single google wifi pro puck? I bough the two pack but am wishing I'd bought the three, but I don't see an option to buy anything but another full router for 199....

No, the hardware for Nest Wifi Pro is the 1 router model. There's not a separate router vs point like with Nest Wifi.

Just to clarify, the third party item is a modem only, not a router. Should I still avoid it?

I would still avoid it. You only want 1 main router with the rest of the points/router behind it, not connected to the same device.
